Renovate the Executive/Administration Building
Built in 1883 as part of the first federally funded health care facility in Memphis, the Executive/ Administration Building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
- House the Museum’s Library - Over 6000 books and portfolios on metalwork, over 10,000 slides and photographs, and numerous videotapes are currently in a commercial storage facility because there is no room for them in the Museum. The Collection, which we are now cataloging, contains many rare and valuable books on the decorative arts.
- Increase Access to Library Collection - Library holdings will be available as a technical and design resource for local and national projects. The catalogue will go online. It will be the only public library with an extensive collection on historic jewelry.
- Increase Educational Offerings – Meeting rooms will allow us to increase and diversify offerings through lectures, workshops and related events.
- Facilitate Food Service - Catering kitchen designed for efficient food service and year-round rental income.
