Re-make / Re-model
November 13, 2009 - January 31, 2010

The Metal Museum’s 30th anniversary year concludes with an invitational show in which we ask artists to help us reexamine our permanent collection with fresh eyes. For
Re-make / Re-model we've invited old and new friends of the museum to choose a favorite object from our collection and create a new work in the spirit of that piece. As the works are viewed side-by-side, relationships emerge between old and new, tradition and innovation, history and form. These connections invigorate our historic collection and offer context for the present.
