Check Exhibit and Event Schedule

The Museum's permanent collection, displayed periodically, numbers more than 3,000 objects--some as many as 500 years old. You can examine items ranging from contemporary American sculpture to gothic European lockboxes...from precious metal hollowware to custom-made knives...from a rooftop crucifix to an iniquitous copper still.

Changing exhibitions (approximately every 10 weeks) bring to light even more of metal's presence and impact. Past subjects, for example, have included historic measuring devices, works by members of the American Jewelry Design Council, and "Renaissance Hardwear: the Art and Technology of Armor."

Hours of Admission

• Tuesday - Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Sundays: 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
• Closed mondays and during exhibit changes.
• We are also closed during Easter, Thanksgiving and the last week of December.

Tours

Groups of all ages enjoy viewing exhibits in the Museum galleries. When scheduled two weeks in advance, groups of ten or more will receive a tour guided by a knowledgeable staff member. Then, the Museum metalsmiths demonstrate their craft in the Schering-Plough Smithy.

Many groups bring lunch and relax at the picnic tables or on the River Bluff Pavilion overlooking the Mississippi River.

• Admission for tour groups of 10 or more is $2.00 each, including tour leaders, chaperones, and teachers.
