DONATION REQUEST POLICIES

Thank you for your interest in the Metal Museum. As a 501 (c)(3) organization, the Metal Museum understands the importance of donations to support the work of schools, community groups and non-profit organizations. Please carefully read the donation guidelines and submission instructions below. The following guidelines have been developed to create consistency and fairness to organizations that seek support. Regrettably, we cannot honor every donation request.

DONATION GUIDELINES

  • Requests should be submitted at least five weeks prior to the event date. Requests that are submitted any later will not be considered.

  • Priority is given to recognized nonprofit organizations or schools serving the metalworking community and to nonprofit organizations and schools operating in or serving the Memphis, Shelby County or Mid-South areas.

  • Political, religious, for-profits and causes outside our focus areas will NOT be considered.

  • The Metal Museum is unable to make cash gifts to organizations.  No exceptions.

  • Only one request per organization per fiscal year (July - June) will be considered.

  • Submitting a request is not a guarantee the Museum will make a donation.

  • Accepting a request for one year does not guarantee future requests will be fulfilled.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

All donation requests must be submitted in writing on organizational letterhead. A PDF submitted via email is acceptable. Incomplete requests will not be considered. Requests should include:

  • The name and a brief description of the nonprofit organization

  • The date and purpose of the event

  • The beneficiary of funds raised

  • Contact name and information

  • An address to which the donations should be sent

Organizations that receive funding must send a written letter of thanks, acknowledgement or receipt.
