Blacksmithing II teaches advanced forging techniques, such as forge welding, collars, collar lap joints, and rivets. By the end of this two-day class, students will leave with a 12” x 12” window grille. The first day will focus on making the frame and center bar and riveting it together. The second day will focus on scroll making, which includes forge welding and fitting the scrolls to the grille.

Class Cancellation Policy

To receive class credit or a refund, you must notify the Museum that you will not be attending the class no less than two weeks prior the class. A 5% cancellation fee will be charged for all refunds. A refund will not be given for cancellations made less than two weeks prior to the class. Class credit for cancellations made less than two weeks prior to the class may be issued at the discretion of the Museum in special circumstances such as inclement weather that prevents travel to the Museum.

If the class is cancelled by the Metal Museum, the student may either transfer to another class of equal value or receive a full refund.

*At this time we do require proof of vaccination for all students, instructors, and staff attending on-site classes. Acceptable proof of vaccination include:

  • Vaccination card (which includes the full name of the person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided, and the date of the last administered dose).
  • A photo of the attendee's vaccination card (either printed or stored on phone or electronic device).
  • Documentation of vaccination from a healthcare provider.
