Steel Scouts | TEEN (Ages 15-18) | JUL. 30-31, 9AM-12PM
For this two-day camp, students will spend on day in the Smithy and one day in the Foundry learning techniques on how to forge and cast metal. * Pre-registration is required; seating is limited. Registration closes on July 12.
Day 1: Cast Campfire Monsters
Teen campers will become Steel scouts as they spend the day in the foundry learning all about mold making and casting. They will create their own campfire monster and cast them in aluminum. Once completed scouts will earn the Foundry Badge.
Day 2: Forged Campfire Skewers
Steel Scouts will return and spend the day in the smithy . They will learn all about forging steel and craft Campfire Skewers. Once complete scouts will earn the Smithy Badge.
* These classes will take place and the smithy and foundry, which are not climate controlled areas; the inside temperature is affected by both the outdoor temperature and the forges and furnaces running. Participants should be dressed in appropriately in 100% cotton clothing, closed toe shoes that can get dirty.
Cancellations made before July 1, 2020, will be eligible for a refund, minus a 5% cancellation fee. Cancellations after this date and no-show campers will not be eligible for a refund.
If camp is canceled by the Metal Museum, campers will receive a full refund.
