BEAUTY IN THE BOUNDARY
Beauty in the Boundary highlights examples of architectural ironwork in the Metal Museum's Permanent Collection. From hand-forged grilles and railings to doors and gates, this selection of forged work showcases the beauty of combining design and function. Work in this exhibition dates from the early 20th century to the present day and includes familiar scrollwork patterns and more abstract designs.
NEW ACQUISITIONS GALLERY
This rotating exhibit highlights the Metal Museum’s newest acquisitions for our Permanent Collection. This gallery allows us to share these new pieces with the public before they go into storage. Currently on display are some of the works we acquired in late 2018 and the first half of 2019.
The Visible Storage Gallery has high density storage units with glass cabinet tops and glass covered drawers. Using visible storage allows the Metal Museum to maximize public access to nearly 300 works in our collection that otherwise would be hidden from view.
