Restoration: The Metal Museum Anniversary Gates tells the story of the creation of one of the Metal Museum’s most treasured works.  Published in 2014 to commemorate the Gates 20th anniversary and the restoration of all 331 rosettes, this catalog features photographs of individual rosettes and essays by founding director James A. Wallace, artist blacksmith and Gates designer Richard Quinnell, Japeth Howard, a former Metal Museum apprentice who helped fabricate the Gates and Alex Klahm, a former Museum board member and volunteer who gave the Gates their “glitz.”

The restoration and catalog were funded through private sponsors and a generous ArtsFirst grant from the First Tennessee Bank Foundation.
