The Metal Museum has chosen Sarah Perkins as the 2019 Master Metalsmith. This exhibition showcases a number of works by the artist, including enameled vessels and hollowware.
Perkins creates work that reflects an emotional response to her environment; these pieces often refer to landscape, body part, or natural object. While she has created many types of metalwork throughout her career, her focus on lidded containers is derived from ideas of self-containment and intimacy.
