GROUPS OF 3 TO 10
What you need to know...
The Metal Museum has introduced new tour options for small groups of 3 to 10 people. The 18K and 24K tours are designed to offer a richer museum experience with the opportunity to learn about the history, artwork, and programming at the Museum. These tours include a guided 20-minute walkthrough of the buildings and sculpture garden with discussions about the Museum's history and artwork currently on display. Each tour is followed by a hands-on activity. 18K and 24K tours can be scheduled on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10am to 3pm and Sunday from 12 to 3pm. These small tours must be scheduled a minimum of three days in advance.
Please note that these tours include a viewing of our Smithy and Foundry metals studios, but do not include a demonstration by shop staff.
18K Tours include a walkthrough of the buildings and sculpture garden while learning about the history of the Metal Museum and the artwork currently on display. Afterwards you will be able to make personalized stamped copper bracelets using hammers and stamps.

LARGE GROUPS TOURS
Guided tours and hands-on activities are available for groups of 10 or more, Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:30am until 3pm, and Sundays from 12:30pm until 3pm. All guided tours must be scheduled a minimum of two weeks in advance. For more information about group tours please visit this page.

CHASING REPOUSSÉ COPPER TILES
Chasing repoussé is a metalworking technique in which a malleable metal is ornamented or shaped to create a design in low relief. Participants will make their own low relief, 2-D drawings in copper using a stylus tool to create patterns and textures on metal.
$10 per person
Hands-on activities may be scheduled without a guided tour, in which case general admission is included in the cost of the activity. There is a 10 person minimum to schedule a hands-on activity.
ART TILE WORKSHOPS
Each participant draws a design in a pre-made sand mold, called a scratch block, using a stylus tool. Molten metal is then poured into the molds. When the metal has cooled participants have a custom 4" x 4" art tile. A staff member is available to answer questions and provide assistance during this activity. Guests will have the option to pick up their tiles that day or have them shipped for an additional fee.
$45 per person
An art tile workshop is a staff-led, immersive activity that may be scheduled without a guided tour. There is a 10 person minimum to schedule an art tile workshop. Art tile workshops work well for large groups or as team-building exercises for corporate visitors.
