HOW DOES IT WORK?

COMMISSION PROCESS

Every Metal Museum project begins with a client meeting. During this meeting, our experienced shop staff will discuss your idea and possible directions for the design. You should expect to talk about your desired completion date and budget range. Please bring installation site images, architectural inspiration, or any rough sketches that might be useful in conveying your idea. We will provide small thumbnail sketches during this initial meeting for your approval. Once a sketch has been approved, the design phase can begin.

Because of the time required to make accurate drawings, renderings, and layouts for a finished piece, commissions are subject to a non-refundable Design Fee. If the project is simple, the Design Fee is usually $300-600. Larger, more complicated projects will be subject to a Design Fee of 10% of the total project budget. If the project requires, the shop may complete to-scale 3D renderings. Renderings are billed at $85/hr. Smaller projects may take 10 hours, while larger projects may take 50-75 hours.

Once the design has been finalized and approved, you will receive a quote for the total cost of the project. When the quote has been approved, a deposit for 50% of the project quote is required before production can begin. The full balance is due after completion of the project.

Please note that turn time for projects varies. Larger projects may require up to 12 months for completion.
