VISIT THE METAL MUSEUM

With 3.2 acres of land, rotating exhibitions, a permanent collection, sculpture garden, and a Blacksmith Shop and Foundry, the Metal Museum is one of the most unique things to do in Memphis.

The Metal Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, 11am to 5pm. Metalworking demonstrations take place every Saturday and Sunday starting at 1pm.

The Museum is closed on Monday as well as the 4th of July, Thanksgiving day, Christmas day, and New Year's Day.

TENNESSEE THURSDAYS

Each Thursday, the Museum offers free admission to Tennessee residents. A current Tennessee state issued photo ID is required for free admittance for visitors 18 years of age or older. Visitors under the age of 17 without a state issued photo ID must be accompanied by a current Tennessee resident with a valid photo ID.


*Free admission does not apply to guided tours.

BLUE STAR MUSEUM

The Museum's participation in the Blue Star Museum program means free admission for active-duty military personnel and their families, starting on Armed Forces Day and ending on Labor Day.

GOLD TOURS

Our 18Karat, 22Karat, and 24Karat Gold Tours offer visitors a one-of-a-kind Museum experience! For small groups of 2-6 people, you can schedule a Gold Tour to listen to a 20-minute guided tour led by our knowledgable staff. Learn about the history of the Metal Museum, artwork in the Sculpture Garden, and special programs available throughout the year. Each tour concludes with a group activity, where you'll create your own stamped copper cuff!

FROM DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS

Get onto Riverside Drive going South. Take the I-55 North Exit to St. Louis. Stay in the right lane. You will take the last exit before going over the bridge to Arkansas. This is Exit 12C - Metal Museum Drive. Follow Metal Museum Drive under the interstate and take a right. Follow the road to the end of the bluff. The Metal Museum is on the right.

FROM I-40 EAST OR WEST

Take Exit 1 Riverside Drive. From Riverside Drive take the I-55 North Exit to St. Louis. Stay in the right lane. You will take the last exit before going over the bridge to Arkansas. This is Exit 12C - Metal Museum Drive. Follow Metal Museum Drive under the interstate and take a right. Follow the road to the end of the bluff. The Metal Museum is on the right.

FROM I-55 NORTH

Follow I-55 North and stay in the right lane as you approach the bridge to Arkansas. Take Exit 12C - Metal Museum Drive. This is the last exit before you cross the bridge into Arkansas. Follow Metal Museum Drive under the interstate and take a right. Follow the road to the end of the bluff. The Metal Museum is on the right.


FROM I-55 SOUTH

Once you have crossed the bridge into Tennessee, take the first exit on the right. This is Exit 12C - Metal Museum Drive. Follow Metal Museum Drive under the interstate and take a right. Follow the road to the end of the bluff. The Metal Museum is on the right.


FROM HIGHWAY 78

Go West on Highway 78. 78 is also known as Lamar Ave. Lamar will become Crump Blvd and Crump becomes I-55 North. Stay in the right lane. Take the last exit before you go over the bridge. This is Exit 12C - Metal Museum Drive. Follow Metal Museum Drive under the interstate and take a right. Follow the road to the end of the bluff. The Metal Museum is on the right.

FROM METAL MUSEUM DRIVE

From your starting location, head west on Metal Museum Drive towards the Mississippi River bluff. Follow the road as it curves left around Chickasaw Heritage Park. At the three-way intersection, turn right onto Riverside Blvd and follow the road straight across the railroad tracks. Turn left onto W Mclemore Ave and follow it under the interstate. Turn left onto Florida St, then turn right onto E Crump Blvd.

*Please note that the ramp from Alston Ave to I-55/Crump Blvd is closed. You cannot get onto I-55/Crump Blvd by taking Metal Museum Drive north and turning onto Alston Ave.
