METAL MUSEUM WELCOME TEAM
As a nonprofit organization, the Metal Museum relies on the dedication and energy of volunteers. Volunteers play an essential role in helping us preserve and promote the art and craft of fine metalwork while creating welcoming, engaging experiences for visitors from Memphis and beyond. As we open our new campus in Overton Park, volunteers, especially our Welcome Team, will be part of a historic grand opening and a transformative new chapter for the Museum.
We currently offer two volunteer opportunities: Tour Guides and Visitor Guides.

WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?
No prior museum or metalsmithing experience is required. We welcome individuals who are curious, community-minded, and eager to learn. Metal Museum volunteers share:

-
A love of the Memphis community and the metal arts
-
An interest in learning and education
-
Strong communication skills
-
Enthusiasm, creativity, and flexibility
Volunteers must be 18 years or older and able to complete a background check.
HOW TO APPLY
Complete the online volunteer application. Selected applicants will be invited to interview. Final onboarding includes training, a background check, and signed policy acknowledgments.
