Product Details

Create Chainmaille jewelry and become part of a 3000-year-old jewelry making tradition that is amazingly versatile using a pair of pliers and an assortment of metal rings. Learn how to weave these metal rings to create strong, versatile chains and structures that are fantastic on their own or can become part of works created using other techniques.

In this workshop, you will learn about proper ring handling, basic terminology, how to choose the correct size ring for the weave you're making, and how to create three different weaves suitable for men and women.
The projects consist of a Byzantine bracelet in anodized aluminum rings, a modified helm weave pendant/keychain in copper and bronze, and a pair of earrings in a Persian weave with a fun scale maille dangle (that also make great pendants)
Your kit includes printed step-by-step instructions for each weave, all the rings needed to complete each project, and the findings to turn them into wearable pieces.
Tools will be provided for use in class - you are also welcome to bring your own smooth jawed chain, flat and/or bent noses pliers to use in class.
Prerequisites: None | Level: Beginner | Ages: 16+ (If minor- parent/guardian must be present)| Instructor: Brandy Boyd
