INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Two blacksmiths hold a glowing hot steel bar under a power hammer.

The Metal Museum offers artist internships in blacksmithing, foundry work, and repair/restoration. These positions offer artists invaluable experiential learning that is meant to expand their professional and practical skills. Responsibilities include the production of commissioned works, assistance with educational programming, participation in national conferences, on-site demonstrations, interaction with museum visitors, and shop maintenance. Internships range in length, but typically take advantage of a student's semester time frame (8-12 weeks).

The Full-Time 2025 Summer Internship application deadline is Tuesday, March 26, with notification by April 12. Part-Time Internship applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
