Product Details

Join us as special guest artist Joe Clift leads a jewelry-making class on combining steel and precious metals. Learn to use steel on a jewelry scale, using both hot and cold forming techniques. Add sterling silver and colored stones to serve as both decorative and functional elements. Complete your pieces as pendants and bracelets. Finishing techniques will be included.

Joe studied metalsmithing and jewelry at the Memphis College of Art and received and MFA in metals from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He has worked as an independent artist-metalsmith; designed and produced jewelry in a commercial setting; and has taught jewelry making, lapidary and bronze casting classes. Joe's recent explorations in jewelry and metalsmithing include combining steel with precious metals, fabricated container forms and enameling.
