40 UNDER 40
THE NEXT GENERATION OF AMERICAN METAL ARTISTS
MAY 26 - SEP. 15, 2019
Gasparrini Galleries
To continue the celebration of the Museum’s 40th Anniversary, 40 Under 40 explores the next generation of influential American metal artists. This exhibition represents multiple areas of the field, including forging, casting, furniture design, jewelry, sculpture, hollowware, enamel, and toolmaking. As the Museum reflects on the previous 40 years, it sets the direction for the future by identifying the artists to watch as their careers flourish.
If one thing can be said about the future of the metal arts field, it is that it is brimming with innovative, diverse artists whose passion for artistic excellence is only matched by their dedication to process and craftsmanship. With a nod to the ways new generations of artists are interacting with their world, the exhibition includes information regarding the artists’ social media platforms, including their Instagram and Twitter handles, allowing visitors to continue to follow the artists’ careers once they leave the gallery.
